Call to action - Aprilia riders and other interested people
I'm a bit pissed of that Aprilia didn't do us the courtesy of turning up at our motorcycle show. They were certainly the most notable absentee.
In fact it's been a few years since they bothered to turn up ... it doesn't really show they care about this market or us Aprilia owners - and, more importantly, potential owners.
Well I've found a way to comment back to Aprilia in Italy. Whether they actually bother to read the comments is another matter but my theory is that if a lot of us send them the message they may just begin to take a bit of notice.
Given that it won't take more than a couple of minutes of your time, I hope that a lot of you will join me in encouraging Aprilia to be there next year.
I told them that I ride a Falco - which I decided to buy after seeing it at the show a few years ago. I mentioned I was looking forward to seeing the Shiver, Mana, Dorsoduro and FV2 concept but was very disappointed they hadn't turned up. I suggested they are failing to capitalise on interest in the UK and hope they will be there next year.

BTW I know we can go to see the bikes in Milan ... but that's not really the point - let's get them to demonstrate that they are bothered about the UK market and UK riders.

I agree with you. The previous year I had a good chat with the people on the Fuel exhausts stand. The costs of being there were crazy.fastasfcuk wrote:i to was very disapointed andy and will send them my veiws.but i think thew nec as a lot to answer for on the cost of being there.
That needs sorting out - but I guess there needs to be some competition between venues to improve things.
There again, if all the other major manufacturers can be there, I don't see that Aprilia can have much excuse.

Well they've posted up my message so somebody at aprilia has read as they vet all submissions.
There are 2 other messages along the same lines too.

I did also post up about this on the Club Aprilia forum ... but it seems that "the powers that be" are more keen to defend Aprilia's decision not to attend than to send a message that we missed them being there.
(think I might be falling into the category of a lippy noobie over there ....

If your going to the Milan show, I might see you there M8. However the Aprilia stand resembled something along the lines of "Organised Chaos" last year. Masses of people (loads of teenage kids, yes teenagers still love motorcycles in Italy) and hardly any staff to be seen.Gio wrote:I'm going to Italy next year, how about a delivered message?
I think the term used was "free for all" ditto for the Ducati stand, When they unveiled the new Monster I thought a fight was going to break out!
Fantastic day out though, but wear good comfortable shoes, because 6 halls is a lot to cover in a day
