Talan Documentary

#1 Post by T.C. » Tue Apr 05, 2016 4:30 pm

Many of you know of my connection with Talan Motorsport.

Well, for anyone interested, the trailer of the documentary which has been filmed over the past 2 years has just been released

https://vimeo.com/161627546

Can't wait to see the whole film. I feel very proud of my connection with the guys.

Just a quick update.

I have just received my invitation to attend the premier in London on the 5th of May.

Black tie job, but worth it I reckon.

I might find out then when the documentary will be on general release or what channel is taking it on.

I will keep you posted

Please do. If they only specified a black tie that gives you a lot of latitude...

Just got home from having attended the premier.

I feel very honoured to have been at the screening and so many words could be used to describe the end result. Humbling, inspirational, awsome, to name but a few., but ultimately respect for Talan, Steve, Louis and Will, respect to the guys who had the sight and courage to make the film and respect to everyone who supports the guys not just on the track.

No announcement is yet forthcoming as to where it will be shown.

This is a film that needs to be seen by a wider audience, I hope that happens.

In short, it is an awsome and thought provoking documentary that will inspire

The trailer made me smile.

I always like to see things like this, these people that help, organise, and ride are truly inspirational. :smt003

That's one of the best quotes I've ever heard "he's in a wheelchair, he is not disabled", hats off to all of them.

I had a good catch up with Talan last night, despite both us feeling uncomfortable in Dinner suits, :smt002 but anyway, poor bugger s suffering big time at the moment.

2 or 3 weeks ago he crashed at Donnington, big time. Mangled his pelvis, knee ligaments and a few other broken bones, which of course he can't feel. But... the chin bar of his helmet connected with his sternum as he rolled and he was left in agony for about 5 days. He was still feeling uncomfortable last night, because as he said, it did not help taking part in his first car race at the weekend, and he unded up putting that into the armco, which as he said was a darn site more comfortable than binning the bike. But he is getting withdrawl symptoms to get back on the bike but has been advised to hold back for a while.

During the documentary, they showed the X-Rays taken of Steve after the crash that left him paralysed. His face/head was broken in 21 places and the whole of his skull had to be rebuilt, he died twice during the 21 hours of surgery, he was left parlalysed from the waste down, and he is still one of the most modest and nicest guys you could ever hope to meet and always has a smile on hos face.

You cannot help but respect the whole team. Louis and Will's stories are pretty epic as well.

It's rather humbling but very inspirational to watch, that is indeed sticking two fingers up to fate
